The Alliance of Digital Humanities Organizations, in consultation with the DH2023 conference organizers and program committee, have been following the unfolding international situation regarding COVID-19 (coronavirus).  Our thoughts are with everyone affected by the virus including colleagues who are experiencing professional hardships. For 2023, we have cancelled our in-person conference event at Carleton University and the University of Ottawa. Please read a few words from our local organizers and the outgoing Program Chairs about what would have occurred.

DH2023 will proceed with the publication of the book of abstracts as well as a virtual conference event.

Conference Theme The theme of the conference is “carrefours/intersections,” a place where paths cross. The theme recalls the geographical and cultural heritage of Ottawa, a bilingual city in unceded Algonquin territory. Now in its 31st year, DH2023 will be hosted on the border of Canada’s two most populous provinces, Ontario and Québec, on the traditional unceded land of the Kitchissippi Omàmiwininì Anishinabeg, or Algonquin Peoples of the Ottawa River. Our hosts for DH2023 are the University of Ottawa and Carleton University.
